I loved the twisty trickery of Etch-a-Sketch when I was little, but I absolutely hated the fact that I couldn't easily make a round shape. All of my people had square heads and a sun was out of the question. No longer, my friends. Etch-a-Sketch has gone freestyle. The two knob format has been replaced with on kind of joystick knob. But now I have to wonder: does a one-knobbed Etch-a-Sketch lose the fun of the challenge as well as one of its defining characteristics? Maybe not with today's kids.
